On the 15th February WIG held its Annual General Meeting at the Intercontinental Hotel, Phnom Penh. The annual gathering gave WIG's valued members the opportunity to learn more about the organisational and business side of the group. The President and Treasurers presented their reports and the highlights of what has been yet another amazing year, with 16 projects funded by WIG fundraising activities. Not only was it an opportunity to reflect on the successes of the last year, hear inspirational presentations from Guest Speakers but, it was also the time to invite nominations for the Executive Committee for the forthcoming year, which is shaping up to be really successful too!
Early in February a group of WIG ladies visited the Hands of Hope Community organisation to see the work they continue to do and again, assess how WIG can further support them. This wonderful organisation is run by a hugely dedicated and inspirational Cambodian gentleman, Mr. Sarin Chan. Their focus is to provide care and support to hundreds of children with physical and/or intellectual disabilities including, autism.
They also provide support to families of the children helping them to access educational facilities and services. If you would like to volunteer or help with fundraising for this wonderful organisation please visit them via the following link.
